Using advanced machine learning (ML), Computer Vision (CV) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), analysis of front facing video feeds extracts assets and structures, extracting key attributes and geo-positioning them on our GIS layer.
Stream huge point clouds effortlessly, on a web-browser. Geolocated, with a suite of review tools. Assets are automatically recognised and segmented. Video feeds can be used to generate 3D point clouds for further analysis.
Combine multiple data sources including video, LiDAR, thermal video, 3D BIM Design, geospatial data, route information, satellite feeds, existing asset databases.
Data sets are geo-positioned using a number of data sources, with improved localisation with advanced algorithms
From capturing the data to visualising on ATLAS’ web-based viewer, ATLAS provides an end to end, fully automated process, saving time and money and reduce bottlenecks.
When decisions are required instantly, calculations can occur in realtime on ATLAS Lens to deliver information directly to a train driver.
ATLAS (Automated Track & Lineside Asset Survey) has an intuitive web-based visualisation platform, removing the need for bespoke software or high end computing hardware. Using artificial intelligence and machine learning models, ATLAS offers a fully automated, end-to-end solution to automatically recognise & geolocate assets from video and point cloud data, perform analysis on the processed data, such as clearance measurements and change management across repeat runs. Multiple data sets are federated into the ATLAS platform including both open and proprietary data formats.
Asset Recognition
ATLAS has advanced track-tracing algorithms, and has also been trained on numerous asset classes for both video and point cloud data sets, including:
- Lineside Assets (e.g. Signage, Signals, Line-side Furniture)
- Structures (e.g. Overbridges, Tunnels, Viaducts)
- Track Assets (e.g. Axle Counters, IRJs, Balises)
Geospatial
ATLAS combines client specific route data to allow the integration of route and chainage information. ATLAS also overlays open source data sets such as satellite imagery to further enhance the datasets.
Thermal Video Data
Thermal imaging can be an effective way to detect electrical faults before an incident occurs. Hotspots on third rails can be automatically detected using train mounted thermal cameras.
Watch the Video
Point clouds are generally extremely large files, and can be difficult to transfer, view and manipulate. ATLAS streams point clouds in such a way that they can be viewed on the web, with a standard browser and internet connection, without the need for sophisticated computing power. ATLAS works with all standard point cloud file types.
Asset Recognition & Segmentation
ATLAS has been trained on numerous asset classes and will automatically segment assets detected in a point cloud. Vegetation is also detected . Changes between clouds taken at the same location on different dates can be flagged, along with comparisons to 3D design models.
Photogrammetry
If LiDAR scans are not available, ATLAS can automatically convert front facing video feeds into photogrammetry point clouds. Although not sub-millimeter accurate, they still provide enhanced analysis such as geo-positioning of assets or basic measurements.
Structural Gauging & Clearances
ATLAS can automatically generate SC0 files at both point and linear assets that it detects. These can be used for clearance profiles and gauging analysis of structures.
ATLAS Lens is a train-borne hardware component which captures information from the railway and transmits the data back to our ATLAS platform for processing & visualisation.
Tail Lamp Enclosure
ATLAS Lens is modular and components can be swapped depending on capabilities required in the specific use cases. The housing is rail industry rated/compliant and mounts onto a standard tail lamp bracket. Modules can include:
- Video Camera
- Thermal Camera
- LiDAR Scanner
- GPS & IMU (Intertial Measurement Unit)
- Battery
- ATLAS Lens Edge Processing Module
- On-board data storage
- Low cost solution
Realtime Processing
ATLAS Lens has built-in capability to do some processing on the device (edge processing) providing realtime outputs. This includes provided alerts direct to the driver.
